Heathrow's First Terminal Building

Description

The fist permanent teminal building at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) showing the terminal's entrance with traffic signal its turquoise glass architecture, with pedestrians approaching the entrance.

The building was originally called the Europa Building and was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1955. It was then the first permanent passenger terminal at Heathrow. It was renamed Terminal 2 after Terminal 1 was built nearby in 1969.

It was demolished in 2010 to make way for a modern building, called the Queen's Terminal, which the Queen officially opended on 23 June 2014.
